Description

Social Circuit is a simple app concept designed to allow and assist users in finding or creating local events for other users to join/plan. The idea here is similar to MeetUp, but more spur-of-the-moment.

The goal of this project was not to create a fully function app, but to gather qualitative data on an app idea and develop a prototype to pitch to stakeholders. This was not merely surveys and paper sketches. During development, our team conducted ethnography studies amongst our targeted demographic (college students) using many of the User-centered Design principles. Several mock-ups had been made and focus groups were used to test the app for issues our team had missed on. The above process had been reiterated several times until we came across a final prototype that most of our users were excited with.

The team and I became very familiar with many quantitative and qualitative research approaches and gathering key information from users since users do not always perfectly describe what they want or need.
